TOCA STUDENT · Lesson 25 · Tarraxo and feeling

Build a kizomba that feels like you

To interpret is to make choices. You do not play everything, you tell your reading of the track. Let the emotion decide the texture before you decide the step.

Dawou Tarraxo, pioneer of Tarraxo. Build a kizomba that feels like you

The right choice is the one that is sincere and readable, not the most complicated. And interpretation flows through the connection, never against it.

Try this. Listen to a track you love once, without dancing, and note three moments to honour. A break, a silence, a build. Then dance it around those three moments only.

This is the point of the TOCA method: your own dance, not a copy.

Describe your dance in three words.
